May and June 09

Here’s what we’ve been up to:

We had a nice visit from Ryan and his family.  We played outside, built a bonfire in our “snoqualmie village”, and went to the park.

Nick played on the High School’s JV Baseball team this year.  He had a great season and gained a lot of experience.

Our Trip to Washington D.C.

We had a great time over Spring Break.  We spent 9 days in D.C. seeing the sights and visiting family.   First we stayed a couple nights at Chris (Jeff’s brother) and Natalie's.  We watched conference with them.  They took us to Mt. Vernon—famous home of George Washington.  We went to a pretty Arboretum and fed some huge goldfish.

Then we stayed at my parents apartment in Kensington Maryland.  They are almost done with their LDS mission at the D.C. Temple Visitors’ Center.  We got to see them in action.  They are great examples to our boys.

Then we spent 3 days in D.C. seeing the sights.  First stop was the US Capital.  We got a little rain, but then it warmed up nicely.

DC_177 DC_180 DC_185 We really enjoyed visiting the Arlington National Cemetery, where we witnessed one of the most solemn events we’ve ever seen.  The Changing of the Guard.  It really opened our eyes to the incredible sacredness of our military.  Thanks Tom, for serving our country.
DC_202 DC_201 DC_203 We also visited Hershey, PA with Jana and Zola, where we toured the Hershey’s chocolate factory.  The whole town is a tourist spot for the chocolate company.  Check out the little Hershey’s Chocolate Kisses on the light post on Chocolate Avenue.
Oriole Park 01 Oriole Park 02 Oriole Park 03 We also attended a Baltimore Orioles baseball game, (Nick’s favorite event), where we saw the New York Yankees annihilate the orioles.  Aaahh, look at Nick standing next to the ‘Babe’.

We had a great time and hope we can do it all again sometime.

Rockin' Out

We are still having some crazy weather.  We got a call from old friends from Alaska.  They were standed in Seattle, flights cancelled, on their way to Disneyland.  They stayed with us a couple of days.  We had a good time, they made it to CA.  We had a wonderful Christmas.  The family got XBox including Rock Band.  So we've been rockin' out.
